Caitlin and I did an ocean swim at Corona Del Mar this morning. No matter how much I tell myself that sharks don’t tend to inhabit the waters off Orange County, it is impossible to shut out the primal fears of murky water. Knowing that there are tens of feet of space beneath me is [...]

I am presently sitting in the computer lab on the first floor of CSUF’s Pollak Library. As of four minutes ago I am a student replete with a “Titan Card.” Perhaps I should be feeling apprehension or excitement regarding my semester, but I am mostly aware that it is cold in the library.
I [...]

Sorry about not blogging recently. I went through a short bout of depression, then had a mock triathlon on Saturday (did all three sports, full-length, in 2 hours and 45 minutes!), then had my Marketing Strategies class last night and Enterpreneurship tonight, and it doesn’t look like I’m going to have much free time between now [...]

I have known the inexorable sadness of pencils,
Neat in their boxes, dolor of pad and paper weight,
All the misery of manilla folders and mucilage,
Desolation in immaculate public places,
Lonely reception room, lavatory, switchboard,
The unalterable pathos of basin and pitcher,
Ritual of multigraph, paper-clip, comma,
Endless duplicaton of lives and objects.
And I have seen dust from the walls of [...]

(Almost) Every Sunday night, I make dinner for my housemates. Last night, I came home from a BBQ at my boyfriend’s with some grilled veggies and decided to make a cold pasta dish.
Two bags of penne pasta, cooked al dente, then run under cold water
A couple of italian squashes and zucchinis, sliced and grilled with EVOO
Small [...]

…to exercise.
Last night, I only got 6 hours of sleep, which usually makes me tired, but right now, I’m beyond exhausted. My muscles feel heavy and my brain has dropped at least 20 IQ points. And I think it’s because I haven’t exercised in 24 hours. I might also be dehydrated.
Dangit Becky! This is why [...]

My summer running has been fraught with injury (this is more dramatic than is true, but I couldn’t resist the opportunity to use the word “fraught”); for the last several months my Achilles tendon has refused to quiet down and submit to the rest of my leg. I had to cancel running the San [...]
