Isabella has taken to wandering across and laying upon keyboards. We think it’s because they’re warm.
This evening, she stepped on my laptop and turned on my “Num Lock” function s6 everyth5ng 5 typed 3662ed 352e th5s.
I was about to shoot her, because I couldn’t figure out how to undo it.
In the search for the seemingly invisible “Num Lock” button, I discovered that my F3 button has a little speaker with an X through it in blue. The blue means it’s a secondary function. So, because I was desperate, I clicked it. In so doing, I fixed a “problem” my computer has had for almost a year now… The speakers had stopped working. I had had everyone and their father look at my computer and NO ONE could figure out what was wrong. My friend, Daniel, hooked up USB speakers to it this summer and they worked, so I knew it wasn’t a lost cause, but I never imagined it was literally a matter of pushing a button.
So now, Caitlin has speakers again! It’s a joyous day!
And, because I had been looking for a blue-secondary-function, I had passed over the black-primary-function “Num Lock” key.
Everything is returned to normal, and better than normal.
Awwh cats
